29TH ANNUAL THUNDERCLOUD SUBS TURKEY TROT

Thursday, November 28

The good news is that it's not a 5k (3.1 miles)... it's 5 miles. Lol.

The ThunderCloud Subs Turkey Trot, one of Austin’s most beloved Thanksgiving traditions, started in 1991 with just a handful of volunteers and 600 participants. Today it has grown to be the largest 5 mile run in Texas, with more than 700 volunteers and over 20,000 participants from all over the U.S. and beyond.

Not only is it a great way for families to have fun together on Thanksgiving, it’s an event that you can really feel good about being a part of. All proceeds from the race go directly to Caritas of Austin, a non-profit that works to prevent and end homelessness in the Austin community. To date, the Turkey Trot has raised nearly $3.8 million for Caritas.

If you're new to Austin, never run in the Thundercloud Turkey Trot, or been witness to the event, know that costumes and fun is encouraged!
