Charlie Pitkin, Realtor, Captain, CFO* (*Chief Fun Officer)
More than 15 years ago, with the goal of becoming a professional Duathlete, Charlie was scouting cities known for great biking. After seeing Austin, Charlie quickly realized that he had found his paradise and made the decision that this was to be his new home. Now settled in his Central Texas dream, Charlie and His two girls, Ava Rose and Ella Maria, are not only grateful for the wonderful life they get to enjoy residing on Lake Austin, but also make a point to dedicate time to giving back to the community.
Upon his arrival to Austin, Charlie became active in the city’s thriving technology scene. He joined Dell in 2002, and then quickly rose through the ranks being awarded numerous small business sales and team player of the month and year awards. Within only 5 years, Charlie became one of Dell’s most profitable agents, team player, and one of its most valued employees. It was while sailing off the coast of Maui, on one of the Hawaii trips that Dell had rewarded him with, that Charlie felt the divine call to follow a lifelong passion for real estate. Calling on the mentorship of his Grandfather, Father, and Surrogate Father whom all had found unique entrepreneurial successes in New England in fields of real estate, boat brokerage, and shoe industry respectively - He mustered up the courage to leave behind a secure life and livelihood and threw caution to the wind! Besides these new business venture plans, Charlie would also be bringing home a Hawaiian stow-a-way, his oldest daughter Ava Rose!
Within a month of returning to Austin, Charlie left Dell and jumped headfirst (unknowingly into “the Great Recession”) into his new role as a fledgling entrepreneur and father. Hindsight being 20/20, it was this timing of his real estate career launch (into the challenges of the Great Recession) that was formative in Charlie’s method of doing business. His small-town roots are quite apparent, considering that his business is almost entirely comprised of personal referrals.
Today, Charlie has developed vast experience in residential construction. He has personally restored 3 homes in some of Austin’s most endearing neighborhoods. Having a dream to be like one of his childhood heroes, Bob Villa, Charlie has learned diverse skills related to hands-on construction. An early commitment to develop meaningful and strong relationships with Austin’s architects, contractors, and building trades combined with his unique skill set acquired from years of building property in Austin, has become a true advantage for his buyer and seller clients.

Charlie was fantastic from start to finish. He helped us think through a myriad of things as we considered buying our current house. We loved the house, but it was quirky and needed work to help fit our family. Charlie was instrumental in providing guidance and even getting quotes for us on work we needed to consider if we bought the house (fencing, ac, garage). All of this was much appreciated and helped us come to a final agreement we felt right about (not to mention the seller and seller's agent were beyond challenging to work with and played lots of games). On the sale side, Charlie was just as instrumental. We trusted him and invested a decent amount of money in getting our house ready to sell, and they were rewarded with 7 or 8 offers on the first weekend and sold above asking price! I have recommended Charlie to friends and family and will continue to do so. He does a fantastic job and goes above and beyond.
